I smoked tobacco for 40 years. I’m 61 years old now and have emphysema. I am rather sure I had it before I quit tobacco back in 2012. The first two years I vaped the equivalent of my usual pack per day. Since I retired in 2014, I vape about one cigarettes worth of vape per day. The taper off came unconsciously. The advantages of vaping over smoking tobacco are to numerous to mention, but I still get my nicotine and the sensation of smoking without tobacco.
My history of tobacco use and trying to quitting could fill pages. I just wish it had been an option in the 1960’s.
