I’ve started smoking in my 20’s. I tried quitting a few times. Cigarettes have so many chemicals involved that are extremely dangerous and non-smokers have to inhale them as well even if just down-wind. I hate smelling like someone’s cigarette and won’t let my children be around the air that smells like a smoker is nearby.
I started vaping about a year ago. My throat feels better and I can breath well. Since starting, I’ve lowered and will continue to lower my nicotine level. I may end up quitting one day or I might use 0 nicotine and continue to vape flavor only. I’ll be doing that until the habit of inhaling and holding something is no longer necessary for me. I’ve progressed finally in cutting back and have a goal in mind. If vaping is taken away, that progress will be for nothing. In the meantime, vaping keeps me from smoking high levels of chemicals from stinky and cheap cigarettes that no one should have to be around.
I often wonder if vaping is taking away from the governments profits received from cigarette sales and they prefer that we all go back to smoking. Then they can collect on those high taxes while everyone gets more and more sick where they can then benefit from medical costs, cancer treatments, and other medications the FDA makes money from. I realize some would think it’s unnecessary to vape or smoke but for some with very stressful lives, it’s helpful. I’m sure if people were told they couldn’t buy beer and hard liquor anymore… I don’t think they would even consider doing such a bizarre thing. My point is that out of all the things one can do, I think vaping is the least dangerous and considerate of those around us including our own bodies.
